Life 2.0: Them Them (Us) Them Them
Life 3.0 Realize, Reprioritize, Reorganize
On Monday March 4, we received the download of Life 3.0. (We didn't even know it was in development!)
This new version of life in't so much an upgrade as a sort of "reconfiguration." As my favorite software bills their latest update geared specifically to writers: "All the Features You Need, None of the Ones you Don't." That's about to be our life: simplified, yet not exactly simple.
First Product Review of the Life 3.0
- Features We've Cut: Montessori preschool, Hubbard St. creative movement class, park district gymnastics, Miss Clara's music class, swimming, birthday parties, away playdates, children's museums, jumpy castles, festivals and carnivals, parks and playgrounds, library, shopping with the little cart at Trader Joe's...and anything else you can think of that involves other living creatures, human or otherwise.
- Overview: Aria might feel isolated and/or punished as Lyric continues all the activities that Aria cannot. Not to mention she'll be bored. My heart breaks (again).
- Aria will likely be alive and healthy (mostly) and bored ... and then later, she can be alive and healthy and not bored. Besides, boredom builds imagination.
- She's 3, not 13. This might be harder on mom than it is on the preschooler.
- Aria's sister is also her BFF to play with after school and over the summer.
- Home piano lessons!
- Even at age 5, Lyric is already good at sparing Aria's feelings when there's something fun that Aria can't participate in.
- For a long while we won't be paying for tuition, or for extra-curriculars or expensive entertainment...that means funds perhaps for other things (like tutors?)
- No more hectic activities schedule and chauffeuring.
- Think of all the cool activities you'll try out .... finger knitting!
